Along with her decorative activities, Sandrine Lorenzo also continues a more personal art. Expressive faces have always inspired her.
Her first series of portraits is called « Journey to the land of the Kings’ sons » and is made of a range of portraits filled with charisma and truth. Then, the frames narrow for a close-up with the skin, a rich area of events that show a deeper essence.
This is what the second series of portraits is about: « The depths of man can be found in the skin ». Creations made with textures inspired by bark, fruit skin, minerals… Back to figurative painting. Faces loose their structure; they are broken up and recomposed by the juxtaposition of frames in order to capture flaws and see what is hidden underneath. Series called « Terre » (« Soil ») (in progress).
